Curated Classes & Activities for Children Kidiaree

Kid's Book Barter

Book club connecting young readers through fun, thoughtful literary meetups.

About the Class

The Book Barter Workshop is a heartwarming, community-driven event designed to spark a love for reading and storytelling among children aged 6 to 10 years. Organised by Pages & Pals, this interactive workshop invites kids to bring a pre-loved book they've read, loved, and would recommend to another young reader.

In this cozy setting, children get a chance to:

  • Present their book and explain why it’s worth reading
  • Engage in thoughtful exchanges with peers
  • Participate in a token-based lucky draw that decides the order in which they select a new book from the shared pile

This is more than just a barter—it’s a celebration of reading, communication, and community. The event gently encourages children to express themselves, make mindful choices, and explore stories beyond their own bookshelf.

Why Its Special:

  • Hosted by Mudra Mehta, founder and owner of Pages & Pals, a passionate advocate for child literacy and storytelling
  • Fosters confidence and communication through peer interaction.
  • Promotes responsibility and care for books.

A few guidelines for those attending:

  • Bring along a book you’ve read before and would love to recommend to other kids.
  • Make a case for your book — why should someone read it?
  • All the books are then placed in a pile, and you are assigned a token number via lucky draw.
  • Your chosen token number decides your turn to take home a book from the pile.

Each participant will receive a ₹200 voucher that can be redeemed at the Fictionary Bookstore, making it a valuable and rewarding experience!
