Saturday Writing Series

A team of Cambridge-Certified Teachers of English that offers thoughtfully designed programs to spark the love for expression in children

About the Class

“My child has wonderful ideas, but struggles to put them into words.”

If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone.

Many children find writing overwhelming. They stare at a blank page, don’t know how to begin, write only a few sentences, or lose confidence because they think they “aren’t good at writing.”

The good news is that writing is a skill—and like any skill, it can be learned.

The Saturday Writing Club is a gentle, beginner-friendly series designed especially for children who need a little more guidance and confidence. In each one-hour session, we’ll focus on one practical writing skill at a time, breaking it down into simple, manageable steps before children try it for themselves.

There are no marks, no pressure and no expectation that children are already good writers. Just plenty of encouragement, clear instruction and individual feedback to help every child make steady progress.

Whether your child is studying in a CBSE, ICSE, IB, IGCSE or any other curriculum, strong writing skills make a difference across every subject. Our goal is simple: to help children stop feeling intimidated by writing and start feeling proud of what they create.

Because every confident writer begins as a beginner.

A quick note on enrolment:

We recommend joining one class per week rather than enrolling in multiple consecutive Saturday sessions. Each lesson introduces a new writing skill, and children benefit from having the week to reflect, practise and apply what they’ve learned before moving on to the next topic. This slower pace also helps beginners build confidence without feeling overwhelmed.

Common Room

Common Room is an online platform that offers fun and engaging creative writing courses and resources for children of ages 7 to 15.

Traditionally, a common room is a shared lounge, often attached to dorm rooms in boarding schools, where students socialise, have late night study sessions, host house parties and engage in other after school activities. Drawing inspiration from this much loved space, Common Room is an initiative to create a shared virtual learning space for young learners, to engage in magical learning experiences.

The series is delivered by Miss Vaijayanthi.

Ms. Vaijayanthi is a Cambridge Certified Teacher of English with experience teaching students from India and the UAE. She has delivered training to students of all age groups through her time at The Hindu.

In addition to her Cambridge CELTA certification, Ms. Vaijayanthi is also a Licensed Teacher in the UAE, which has helped her gain insight into the learning needs of students of different nationalities.
