Kcraft World’s Summer Camp introduces children to five influential artists—Pablo Picasso, Piet Mondrian, Wassily Kandinsky, Henri Matisse, and Yayoi Kusama—each known for changing how the world understands art. Instead of just learning about them, children experience their styles through hands-on creation.
Each artist is chosen for how naturally children can connect with their ideas—whether it’s breaking rules like Picasso, playing with patterns like Kusama, or expressing feelings through colour like Kandinsky. This helps children see art not as “perfect drawing,” but as a way to think and express.
What happens in a session
- Introduction to the artist through simple stories and visual references
- Understanding why the artist created in a certain style
- Guided activity based on their signature technique
- Independent creation with room for personal interpretation
- Group sharing to build confidence and articulation
What the child will do (Artist-wise learning)
- Pablo Picasso – Create expressive faces by breaking and rearranging features, helping children understand that art doesn’t have to look “real” to be meaningful.
- Piet Mondrian – Use grids and primary colours to explore order and balance, helping children organise visual space.
- Wassily Kandinsky – Paint using colours and shapes to express feelings, helping children connect emotions with art.
- Henri Matisse – Cut and compose bold shapes, helping children experience freedom in form and design.
- Yayoi Kusama – Create repeating patterns and dots, helping children enjoy rhythm, focus, and playful repetition.
What the child will build
- Confidence to move beyond “perfect drawing” and explore ideas
- Ability to connect emotions, patterns, and structure with visual expression
- Focus and patience through step-by-step creation
- Openness to experimenting and making mistakes
- A deeper understanding that art is personal and expressive
