A Monthly Literary Mail Subscription for Curious Children

The Common Room Post invites children to slow down and rediscover the joy of reading.

A unique literary subscription introduces young readers to celebrated global authors whose stories have inspired generations. Every month, a thoughtfully curated envelope arrives by post — bringing with it the quiet magic of letters, storytelling, and discovery.

There is something truly special about receiving a letter: spotting your name on the envelope, opening it with curiosity, and exploring pages that have travelled miles to reach you. The Common Room Post celebrates this beautiful anticipation, reminding children that reading is meant to be savoured.

What arrives in your child mailbox each month?

Each monthly edition explores one renowned global author and includes:

Meet the Author Card
A simple introduction to the author and their literary world.
A Personal Letter
A warm letter introducing the author and their stories to young readers.
Sticker Sheet
Illustrated stickers inspired by themes and characters from the author’s works.
An Original Short Story
A specially written story inspired by the author’s style, voice, and recurring themes.
Vocabulary & Reflection Activity Card
Fun prompts and activities that encourage deeper reading, imagination, and thoughtful reflection.

Terms and Conditions

Sign-Up Cut-Off

Please enroll on or before the 15th of the month to receive that month’s edition.
Subscriptions placed on or after the 16th will automatically receive the following month’s edition.
Subscriptions are valid for 12 months from the date of sign-up.

Note:
Subscriptions for the first edition (launching in April) are open until 31 March 2026.

The Common Room Post ships across India.
International orders are currently not available.

All mailers are currently dispatched from Kerala in the first week of each month via India Post.

About Common Room

Common Room is an online platform that offers fun and engaging creative writing courses and resources for children of ages 7 to 15.

Traditionally, a common room is a shared lounge, often attached to dorm rooms in boarding schools, where students socialise, have late night study sessions, host house parties and engage in other after school activities. Drawing inspiration from this much loved space, Common Room is an initiative to create a shared virtual learning space for young learners, to engage in magical learning experiences.
